Bless(said)

Just to make sure...some of my post refer to being blessed. Read Psalms 32. It speaks (sings) about what it means to be blessed. And the passages speaks to God making you clean in his eyes and protecting you from the evils of the world. Being blessed doesn't mean that everything is going to be perfect, or that you will receive the world's definition of prosperity, life, or honor. But you will receive those in God's eyes with his definition.

Also, it doesn't mean God will always fix your situtaion so that you're not suffering anymore or going through, but it does mean that he will comfort you in those times.

But I didn't want people to think just because your heart is in God, you should receive material gifts (somewhat hinted at this in my last post). Rather God will bless you. Meaning he will protect you, comfort you, and take care of you. He does want you have be happy and "have things," but not based on the world's definitions.

So note that never in any of my posts and I concluding that worshiping God gives you material happiness. Rather worshiping God gives you spiritual gifts that sometimes manifest themselves into material things. But of course your reason for worship is not for the supposed outcome, but rather because He is who He is.

Even if I had nothing, and my situation was drastically different. I would still praise his name, and bare with anything He gave me cuz He never gives us more than we can bare, right? Also cuz He gives us everything we need to cope with any situation.

Completely understanding the ways of God, is sometimes impossible, but you can partially understand some things that will give you exactly what you need to continue. Plus it's not for us to know exaclty what He has planned for us. It's part of our belief (if you believe) that you trust.

So even if my homeownership situation doesn't pan out how I want it, I know that He will provide for me as long as I follow His plan.

CORRECTION: Prayer works as long as you're praying in accordance with His will.

....until my next upchuck session....,
-R

ray,

in the book of luke it talks about how if man had faith the size of a mustard seed that we would tell a tree to uproot itself and plant itself in the sea and it would do so. With that being said, its important to think about the sizes of our own faiths. Man if that much faith can do that i wonder what size my faith is, the size of a germ? Anyway we must evaluate our faith in God. Step out on faith my brother and know that God will provide. try this, this is something that I have been charged with doing...take the next month and talk about having faith in God with someone each day. see if your faith won't grow and see if Gods blessings for you won't expand.

peace and love to you brother

I was hanging out with my friend this weekend who is like basically an atheist but not really cuz he was like well I believe that theres something there. Something that created us but Jesus Christ isnt real and christianity is crap. He was like the only reason i feel like theres some type of god is because I have de-ja vu all the time in my dreams and I feel like if i saw something b4 it happened and i didnt write it. Someone else had to. He's pretty set in his ways and is too freaking brilliant to be out smarted in an intellectual manner so how do I explain "faith" to someone who is all about cause and effect. (sorry it not really about ur post but i swear i read it lol)

Swtnlow (Frits?),

That's deep . . . I definitely feel you on that. Feels like I'm goin through experiences like that on the regular lately. It's crazy though, cuz now that I'm in singapore and have NO black friends, I'm realizing how much of the non-black world does not know Christ. Black folks . . . we're in a bubble of Christian culture, and we DEF take it for granted. ( . . . "we" . . . haha, don't be offended, y'all know my heart)

Anyway, all of a sudden I find myself without any Christian friends. . . and for once in my life I actually have a ministry. Funny huh?

Anyway, back to the matter at hand . . . If there's one thing I've learned about showing Christ to non-believing folks it's this . . . DONT WORK SO HARD! My mom once told me that "There comes a point where all you can do for a person is love 'em and pray for 'em. God will do the rest if you let him." It's so true. (Thanks mom) I'm no biblical scholar, but I dare say that Christ never saved anyone by arguing with them over theology or engaging in intelectual debate (which is the road that us christians too oftern take). But he loves people until they find their way to DADDY.

So sweetnlow, God will get their attention in his timing. Don't put the ownus on urself. Just love, pray, and reflect chritslike living as best you can. I used to think that God getting people's attention through a series of crazy emotionally draining and traumatizing events was something that only happens in Gospel plays, but I've seen it happen more than once to my non believer friends since I got here. I just have to be ready to catch them when they fall. I guess it's like a tag team operation. But God will do the hard part. feel me?

Shout out to my brother Ray for creating this platform for online fellowship. . . . Leave it to a saved engineer to take Jesus one the web. But for real bro, I love you man, and I really appreciate what you're doin with this Blog.
